Lisa, you probably do have the virus. To manually
counter the shutdowns, go to start>run, and type
shutdown /a to abort it if you get that rpc shutdown
window. Then, get the rpc patch for windows xp from
microsoft (just searching for rpc at their site should do
the trick), install it, then get the W32.blaster.worm
removal tool from symantec. If a hacker got into your
computer and planted some files, you can restart it in
safe mode and check the registry with regedit or msconfig
or download Hijack This! to get a report of what may be
left in your machine. Do the latter action last, however.
