Error Installing XP Patch - PLS HELP!!

After finally successfully downloading the patch for XP I
get an error while trying to install it stating the
integrity of the update.inf file could not be verified. I
followed the instructions from microsoft for this (i
stopped the cryptographic deleted the catroot2 folder
several times) and still no luck. I've tried everone's
suggestions and nothing. My last resort is re-installing
XP. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
