On WINXP Home edition.
When attempting to enter a user name and password the
field does not allow any entry. This error was after
trying to log on to microsoft to download the Worm Patch
and the an error popped to say that "RPC or NPC" and the
machine will be forced to shutdown. After shutdown the
machine does not allow access.

Any clarification of what happened and how to reset
Administrator password. Thank you in advance.
