You need to disable the remote procedure call (RPC)
function as follows:
1) Acess the control panel.
2) Click on administrative tools.
3) Click on services.
4) Scroll down the list until you come to remote
proceudre call.
5) Double click remote procedure call.
6) Click the recover tab
7) Change the first, second and subsequent failures
to "take no action".
8) Click OK and then close the services box and the
control panel box.
Doing this should stop you PC from shutting down. You may
get a dialog box come up instead with a black backgorund.
Click on the X to close this.
You should now be able to download the fix etc without
your PC shutting down every five minutes.
