You have listed some of the disadvantages of some OEM computers,
particularly those from companies no longer around.
The Safe Mode suggestion will only work if there is no password (often
the case) or it is known.
If your computer did not come with a CD of some sort, it should have a
hidden partition for recovering the computer to as original condition.
If you have no partition as well, your options may be limited to
buying Windows XP.
