Thank you for your excellent and helpful reply!! Until 2
days ago, I was firewalled. I disabled the firewall on
suggestion of Direcway who claimed that there is no way
for my system to be accessed, and we were trying to make
repairs after getting "infected" by the virus and worms
(before nabbed by NAV). Prior to this, we have had no
problems with viruses, worms, or popups for years.

And yes, the ads do say "messenger service". I knew that
it was a sales gimick, but just couldn't figure out how
to stop them.
