I have that problem. I checked my download history at
the site, and it does not show that the patch that
Jupitar Jones stated was the security patch (Q818529) has
been downladed . (nor is it in the ADD/Remove PROGRAMS
FOLDER in CONTROL PANEL)..YET, when I scan for updates,
it says I do not have any Critical updates or service
packs available. ...I did try to update a recommended
WINDOWS XP PRO patch and it failed at the point when it
was done downloaded and almost ready to install.
Is the problem due to the MS Site Server is too busy now?
