I finally got mine fixed. Look at this MS article:

It tells you how to set security back to the default
settings.
Also helpful was this web site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/win_xp_mydocs.htm
Email me if you have trouble - there were some things that
weren't obvious.
