This is becoming a real pain. I just finished connecting 6
Pc's with WinXP Pro to my LAN. I'm running RedHat
8.0/Samba server. The wife and I can run anything we want.
However the kids can't play and games. The only one I have
loaded for now is Battlefield 1942. I've tried others and
my kids get the same result, "Logon on as Admin". I moved
everyone to power users from users. My wife and I also are
now Powers users. Not admin, and the games still won't
work for some. Others it runs but the can't change the
setting in the game so I must do "run as" admin to make
changes for them.
What have I done wrong? When they logon is through the
domain. There no local logons and I use roaming profiles.
Office Pro 2K and games built into WinXP work fine. Also I
don't want to make them admins. Can I fix this. This has
been an on going problem for a while now.
Thanks,
Spike
