I was going through the procedures for setting up IIS 5 with minimum NTFS
permissions: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;271071
and I can't apply Creator Owner full access rights. I can only find this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q311/4/44.asp&NoWebContent=1
on the Microsoft site. I saw one other post from a user on Usenet that had
the same problem, but no solution was given. I'm at a loss at this point.
I not only can't apply Creator Owner full access rights on the root drive,
but I refuses to take on any folder. I don't know just what I've done to
cause this - any ideas would be appreciated. I did apply several of the
security tips from here:
http://www.labmice.net/articles/winxpsecuritychecklist.htm but I backed out
many of them in effort to restore functionality. I did make a complete root
drive backup before applying the security tweaks, but I'd like to save that
for a last resort and I'm not absolutely sure that is going to fix NTFS
permission problems. Thanks for any help.
