Thanks Bruce, but this leaves me where I was to start out!

I can share folders easily enough to everyone, but when I try to share with
a specific user only (on another machine on the network) I cant get the
user\computer name into the share set-up window.

The desktop (I am sharing) has my username\computer as Ian\DELLDESKTOP and
the Laptop is Ian\IANSDELLPORT

The passwords are the same on both. How do I share the desktop resources
with this laptop username?

That's the problem in a crux?
