Hi
I've purchased a D-Link 504 ADSL router to use with a
couple of PC's in the home. The connection to the
internet is fine. I also share files and peripherals
between these to computers.
However, when running the Network Wizard on XP i'm a
little concerned with which options to choose. I'd
appreciate a little advice if anyone can help:
- One option is "This computer connects to the internet
through another computer on my network or through a
residential gateway". This is not strictly true as the
Router manages the internet connection itself and has
built in NAT security.
- The other is "This computer connects to the internet
directly or through a network hub. Other computers on my
network also connect to the internet directly or through
a hub". I think that this option is more appropriate.
If anyone can, i'd like a little advice as to which
option is better for the security of my shares. I'd like
to thank you for taking the time for reading this and
appreciate any help or oppinions if you can spare the
time.
Thanks
