I would strongly recommend Norton Internet Security 2003 which includes
anti-virus, firewall, ad-blocking, spam blocking, trojan blocking and
personal-information protection.
I would recommend against Black ICE as it is known to be unreliable. Try
www.pcpro.co.uk for some reviews. ZoneAlarm is good for a free firewall, AVG
Free is a reasonable free antivirus package. McAfee has had many problems
of late with the newer version so I would have to recommend against that.
Norton Internet Security takes about half an hour to setup but is completely
fool proof when you've finished. It also integrates the antivirus with the
firewall.
It tracks attackers and also gives you detailed information on the attack.
What ever you decide to get, make sure you keep it up to date (and make sure
if your computer is fast enough to set virus heuristics to highest level to
catch hybrid viruses.)
