activex controls are a common way for drive-by spyware and browser
hijackers to install themselves on your computer and spy on you or take
control of your browser. It is a good idea to have some restrictions on
activex and java scripting in the Internet zone. Either set your script
permissions to prompt or put the affected web site in the Trusted zone.
If you have installed and run a spyware preventer program, then it may
be blocking activex controls itself.
