With an otherwise fully functioning Windows2000 AD domain with WindowsXP
clients, I am experiencing a single strange problem.

I set up a Group Policy Object with only one setting, ie Folder Redirection
of "My Documents" to a server share, but this GPO doesn't work. The error
is:

"Event Type: Error
Event Source: Folder Redirection
Event Category: None Event ID: 101
Date: Date
Time: Time
User: Domain\User
Computer: Computername
Description: Failed to perform redirection of folder Desktop. The new
directories for the redirected folder could not be created. The folder is
configured to be redirected to \\Computername\Redirected shared folder, the
final expanded path was \\Computername\Redirected shared folder. The
following error occurred: This security ID may not be assigned as the owner
of this object. "

I found this MS article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;291087 that should
have fixed this error but doesn't.

I have the User account in the OU where the GPO is applied, the search path
to the servershare is correct, Authenticated Users has read-apply security
settings, as well as the specific user but it still doesn't work. It is a
third level OU called UserOU, ex. LibraryOU-DepartmentOU-UserOU.

Moreover, all other GPOs and their settings are enforced.

If I, however, set this setting from within the loged on users profile with
all the same settings, IT WORKS.

I suspect it my have something to do with from which computer type the
setting is made from. It obviously DOESN'T work from a Windows2000 server,
but DOES work if applied via the WindowsXP client itself!
Does this mean I have to load an WindowsXP ADM file onto the Windows2000
servers AD GPO?

Any else out there have a great Idea???
