Messenger Pop-ups

Please help me find out how to stop these annoying pop-
ups once and for all.

I have contacted AOL, gateway and microsoft. Microsoft
had instructions for changing the registry which I did.
I've done the step of gpedit.msc as well as regedit.exe
and neither have worked.

I'm determined not to buy the software that everyone
keeps trying to sell. It's a matter of principle for me
at this point.
