I have a workstation running WinXP (SP1) with IIS installed. I use the
workstation to do web and database development using Visual Interdev and SQL
Server 2000. I have recently noticed that a number of places that should be
remembering a login are not doing so. I have 3 jobs setup that are supposed
to start using my domain login. If I set the user information in the
morning those jobs will run as they are supposed to, but once I shutdown for
the night they will not run the next day unless I reset the login
information. Similarly, when I try to access any ASP pages on my machine, I
get the following errors in the SystemEvent Log:
Source: W3SVC
EventID: 36
The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error was
'The server process could not be started because the configured identity is
incorrect.
Check the username and password.
and
Source: DCOM
Event ID: 10004
DCOM got error "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the
requested logon type at this computer. " and was unable to logon
.\IWAM_PSC1204 in
order to run the server:
{3D14228D-FBE1-11D0-995D-00C04FD919C1}
If I run the synciwam.vbs script then these errors go away and I can run IIS
until the next time I shut down and reboot. Can anyone tell me what is
happening here and how to fix it? I have tried checking the MS KB, but
can't find anything that fixes it past the first time I shut down and
restart the machine.
TIA
