Everytime I try to install patch for 811493: Security
Update (Windows XP), the PC gets into the operating
system login screen, I hit enter and it reboots. If I
let it sit at the login screen, it reboots after a few
    seconds.

Basically all other patches and updates are on the PC,
and Microsoft-autoupdater keeps telling me this update is
needed, I download it, and autoinstall it and the PC
reboots at or near the login prompt. I can reboot a
million times automatically if I just let the PC sit
there and keep rebooting on its own.

The only way I stopped it was to hit F8, and choose to
boot into the Previously stable configuration, which is
before the patch. It took me about 3 weeks just to
figure out that it was this update that was screwing me
up. Microsoft won't help me at all.

Anyone else have this issue. Obviously this patch has an
issue with something on my PC, but I don't know how to
determine what. Everything else (bios, drivers, etc..)
is patches/updated to the latest and greates.

    Help.
