Failed installation of security patch

I have tried 17 times to install the patch Q817287 on my
computer but it has failed each time. Can anyone shed
any light on this subject as Microsoft does not give any
method, that I can find, of asking this question. My OS
is Windows XP on an HP 452UK computer.
