I have run Kerio Personal Firewall quite happily on 2k Pro for some time. Now
I've migrated to XP, which has its own built-in firewall of course.
Key Questions for me:
1) Is there any inherent problem with running both the built-in XP firewall and
KPF?
The advantage I could see to doing this is that the built-in might have some
ports blocked that I might have to laboriously set up rules for in KPF.
2) Does the built-in check for MD5 sums on applications, as KPF does?
If not, I would think KPF might be the better choice, as I'm sure it either is
now or will soon be possible to spoof an application, just like an IP address
can be spoofed.
The best choice *might* be to run both if they don't interfere with each other.
Anyone?
