Can an account be 'hidden' or invisible?

Hi there,

I was going through some excercises in a course on WinXp.
One excercise required me to create to new user accounts
with limited access. I was logged on as Administrator. I
created the first account, but unintentionally created it
as an 'administrators' account. The second I created with
limited access.

I then tried to change the first one (with admin rights)
but the system wouldn't let me do it. It said that there
was only ONE administrator on the system (the new one I
had just made) and that I should create (yet) another
account.

Further I was not able to switch to the old Admin
account, as it was not shown in the list of accounts.

I solved the problem by setting the system to present a
logon screen at start up. Then rebooted and
typed 'Administrator' at the logon. That brought me back
to the right account.

Now what happened? Is the original Admin
Account 'invisible'? Is it possible to have such an
account? Or what else?

I am worried that I may have corrupted some thing and I
do not want to reinstall.

Any help?

Poul
