There's a lot of back and forth on this topic in these groups, but here's
something to know: Windows XP's defragmenter does not, by design, defragment
certain file. Not a bug, but a feature.
That said, the best way to defrag is from Safe Mode, although for many
people (myself included) defragging in a regular Windows session works just
fine.
