No surprise that you are confused, I have not expressed me correctly!

The situation is that the computers used to be standalone, but now
have been set-up in a LAN to give the "punters" access to the Internet
and facility to share of files and resources!

But under any circumstances, when I worked with Windows
2000/NT/ME/98/95, I just used to make a change in register database on
each individual computer, a solution which I found at
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q175/4/68.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0.
Now, I cannot find this facility in Windows XP, which is why I am
asking the question!

I presume that your solution suggestion will work on Windows XP Pro
any way (I have not been able to try it out yet, as I am on a short
holiday), but wonder how I could solve it in the home edition –
although I do not know if it is a "problem" here, but just presumed so
when it turned out to be so in the Pro version!

Thank you for your assistance.
