Has anyone else had this problem where out of the blue
windows xp pro ask to re-activate the OS, because of
MAJOR hardware changes???
The funny thing is that I HAVE NOT CHANGED ANY HARDWARE,
outside of a new HD(additional) weeks ago. Requiring me
to re-activate windows now is intrusive, and beyond the
scope of what MICROSOFT claims....their activation
process requires.
If i am presented with a re-activation window again
without a significant hardware change I have to assume
that there is a serious error in this portion of the OS.
I dont have the time nor the patience to jump through
hoops for a product i have legitimately purchased over a
year ago, and which i did at that time activate as per
required. Windows XP Pro is supposed to be user
friendly...what is friendly about being lock out of your
system with warrant?
Has anyone else had this "little" problem?
Does anyone from MS have an answer as to why the OS
requests/requires re-activation when it feels like it
w/o significant hardware changes???
any info would be helpful...I would email MS support, but
in reality, no such thing exists :)
