Unwanted popups!

This feature has very legitimate uses in windows.
Networked computers use them to send alerts to computers
designated as administrators, certain UPS software use it
to alert users connected to that computer that the power
has gone out. My company uses them to alert selected
people when a backup is finished.

I can't believe that you would actually turn to a third
party solution for something that can be fixed in two
seconds. Go to control panel/administrative
tools/services and DISABLE messenger-it's also free.
