If the account you were using was not named Administrator,
you can try logging in with Administrator (in safe mode boot
if this is Home edition), and then setting the password on
your account to something you do know (and set it on the
Administrator account while you are at it). The Administrator
account is often left by installers with a blank password.
If it is not blank, then ask of those that recently installed the
XP system for your (sooner or later you will need this).
