Windows XP folder sharing

We are currently upgrading 140 laptops from Win98 to WinXP Prof. All
PC's log into a Win2k AD domain in the office.

We have an application that requires file sharing via UNC in a
peer-peer environment when the laptop users are out in the field.

Running into the following issue with the WinXP to WinXP
communications out in the field.

We have shared a folder "XXX" on all XP Laptops. XXX has full sharing
& security rights assigned to the "Everyone" group.

When the users log into their respective XP laptops out in the field
(Loggin on as if they were in the office), they go to network
neighborhood. They double click on the domain they both belong to,
they see each other's laptops; however, when they double-click on the
other's laptop, they are prompted for a username/password. The only
username/password that works is the local admin user's
username/password.

I understand the fact that the XP laptops do not have a cache of all
the domain users in their SAM, but since we assigned the "Everyone"
group full rights to the shared folder, it should not care who is
accessing the shared folder.There should be no prompting of user
cerdentials.

Obviously, we did not run into this issue with our Win98 laptops.

Has anyone ran into this issue, or has a solution.
