Yes, sorry I took so long to respond. Couldn't get back
until now. Now that I have read the other messages
concerning this I believe that my computer was taking so
long to boot that I thought it had a serious problem
since the last update I installed caused me to have to re-
download my windows media player for XP - really ticked
me off for putting me into that situation - so, I turned
off the computer believing it was "locked up". I guess
it was taking that long to boot and I shouldn't have
turned it off. After reading further about all the
problems I was so happy that I did a system restore.
Things are working great again. I don't know if I'll
ever turn my windows update program back on or not. My
time is worth a whole lot more than to sit here for hours
and days trying to figure out what to do to make my
computer work. It seems I'm worried more about the
security updates messing me up than hackers. Thank you
for responding to my note - I couldn't get help anywhere
else. Deb H
