can't update after XP restore

I recently used the restore feature of XP Pro
successfully. However, I am now not able to update the
OS. It goes through the steps, but returns the following
error:
The following items failed to install. To try installing
them again, click Review and install updates, and then
click Install Now again.
Q329441: Critical Update
814033: Critical Update
331953: Security Update (Windows XP)
Updates were never a problem before, but now I am not
able to complete them. Please respond if you have any
thoughts.
