Hi İzak,
I have had the same problem. I had two encrypted
directories on a second hard drive and then had problems
with my network and trying to access the Internet.
Discussions with my ISP resulted in a recommendation to
delete the 'telephony' section in the registry, but this
didn't work. Then came the 'big one', reformat and re-
install Windows. Now, I didn't know that the encryption
keys are generated each time you do an install, I thought
they would be related to the Windows serial key, the hard
disk number and/or computer's serial number. I was wrong.
After installation I can't access about a hundred files,
although I can see them in there(!), and Windows allows
the directories to be decrypted (??!!).
Every encryption has its decryption, and I'd be most
(unbelievably) surprised if MSFT doesn't have a backdoor
key to these (and all) files. I too would like to gain
access.
Microsoft guys ... what say ye?
