If the application compatibility toolset cannot help
you with a specific application then it is likely either
NTFS permissions to some disk area (usually within
the app's installation directory) or permissions on
specific registry keys (again, one's defined by the
app) and these need to be located and loosened to
allow the Users group more than read.
