I am reinstalling DirectX 9 for the second time now. I
have noticed a compatibility issue with DirectX 9, Windows
Messanger (note: not MSN Messanger), My Outlook Express
kept trying to load up Windows Messanger even after
Windows Messanger was uninstalled. I have just now ran
the Registry fix for Outlook and Windows Messanger to tie
both together. Windows Messanger also kept freezing ever
10 seconds or randomly due to the compataibility issues
with DirectX 9. I tried removing DIrectX 9 with the
uninstall DX9 bat file that one of the representatives
here posted. It helped the Windows Messanger issues and
got rid of some compatibility issues. But now certain
games that require DirectX 9 will not work in Network
play. My Inbuilt XP firewall would also crash when trying
to work with settings. The way I had to fix these issues
is simply remove the tie between Windows Messanger and
Outlook Epress, then uninstalling Windows Messanger and
Installing MSN Messanger 5.0 instead. Then I reinstalled
DirectX 9, followed by a reboot solved all my problems.
What I want to know, is when will these compatability
issues be fixed between DirectX 9 and the XP Inbuilt
Personal Firewall and Windows Messanger will be fixed?
