try enabling simple file sharing, dont bother using a
domain, just stick to your work group.
or you have it all right and your hub is cactus
to test run ipconfig /all from a command line on the xp
machines to get their ip's then try pinging each machine
to establish a connection "ping 192.168.123.175 -t"
example only, if you have ips set in place use them instead
192.168.0.1-254 or 10.0.0.1-254 has always worked fine for
me with the subnet mask at 255.255.255.0
don't bother letting xp set up your ips, do it manually or
if you are using a router let it do it for you..
networking is lots of fun with multiple os's ( ha haa )
