The first line of resolution is to make the application
runnable by an account that is only a Users group member.
This is usually doable by granting Change for a folder or
two with the apps install point, or its entire install folder.
Sometimes a app expects an odd-ball temp folder, or more
commonly expects to modify within the registry keys of
the application. Again, solved by changing permissions.
The tools regmon and filemon from www.sysinternals.com
can help you hunt down the issues.
Failing that, if you have Pro then try using the /savecred
switch of RunAs. Try searching this NG as this has been
covered a few times in rather full detail, as has use of
a script wrapper to force-feed the pwd to RunAs .
Keep in mind that it is possible to escape to Explorer or
the cmd prompt from many applications, so it you let
them run the app as a admin you have given the machine
away. Hence, tweaking the install point perms in NTFS
and the reg is the way to go.
