A Note about Windows Update updates not working

There is a newsgroup
microsoft.public.windowsupdate
that is the appropriate place to post about problems
with using Windows Update.

Doing this will help us all by making sure the Windows
Update folks get a true view of the extent of the problems.

When one gets into an install/reinstall cycle with WU in XP
a number of people have found satisfaction by following
steps 6 through 9 of the article
 http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326815
but with step 9 modified to be "reinstall the updates by
visiting Windows Update"
