I get an "access denied" message when I try to access a
User folder in the "Documents and Settings" folder (XP
Pro). Here is the scenario.

I had an XP Pro system with one administrator account and
several limited accounts. The system crashed (bad hard
drive). I have a complete backup of the drive on a CMS
ABS 120GB backup hard drive (external, USB). This is not
a bootable drive.

So, I replaced the hard drive in the system, installed XP
Pro again, and am in the process of migrating the files
from the old system on the ABS drive to the new hard disk
in the system. I can copy all of the user accounts/files
to the new system - but I cannot copy the old
administrator account, which contains some very important
files. When I browse to the administrator account's
directory in the "Documents and Settings" folder on the
backup drive, I get the error message, "Access Denied,"
even though on the new XP system, I am logged in as the
administrator.

Any suggestions for how to gain access to the files in
this folder?

Thanks very much,
R. Jordan
