I too had the same problem, along with hundreds of others
(see in help and support, newsgroups)
There is a knowledge base article that will help you
solve this problem. it's #326815.
My installation history also said that these updates were
installed, but they didn't install correctly and there
was a problem. It's possible that the file that the
updates are downloaded to is corrupted.
For 3 weeks, Windows automatic updates kept telling me
to install the same updates. I finally followed the
instructions in the knowledge base article:
Click start, then click run.
In the Open box, type cmd, then click OK.
at the command prompt, type the following commands,
pressing ENTER after each line.
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
type exit to close the command prompt.
Go back to Windows Update page, download the
update/updates again.
This should work for you, I am happy to say it worked for
me!
