>Your problem may well be with a messenger service used
by corporate enterprise network administrators to notify
users of problems. XP has left this turned on by default
and can be used by anyone using IP addressess to send pop
up notices. To correct go to Start, control pannel,
administrative tools, services, then locate messenger,
double click and set the Start-up type to disable.
Select apply and ok. This should solve the pop up
message problem.
