Profile Problem in XP Pro

You should connect your network cable to the laptop, but
logon using the local account.

You can then copy the domain user profile anywhere you
want. It will just prompt for a logon ID for access to
network resources.

You can copy that profile to a network folder that you
create just to store that profile. If you want it
portable you can copy it to a CD or a temporary directory
on the C:\ drive.
