I feel your pain...

just thinking:
file and printer sharing is OK
Can you see computer in the active directory? Can you
mange it for active directory? I guess not.
Can our ping your DC?
Ping -a ip
Ping -a netbiosname
Ping -a dnsnameofdccomputer
is this cross pinging returns consistent names and
addresses?
