Windows allows you to completely remove the password so
you never even get asked for it again. When you are in
Windows XP...

Start > Control Panel > User Accounts

Choose the user account that you are referring to, and
then choose the option to "Remove The Password"

This will stop the login screen from showing up (assuming
no other active accounts exist. If that's the case,
you'll be asked to choose which account to log into).
