Attempt accessing the computer as Mike suggested.
If that fails:
http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

Another option is a Clean Installation:
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp
Delete all partitions in step 5.
Back-up your important data (don't worry about the sons data) because
this process will destroy all data on the drive.

Be sure to password Safe Mode Administrator as well as any other
account with Administrator access.
You must tightly control ALL Administrator accounts.
ANY Administrator can do and undo anything ANY Administrator can do.

Once you have completed reload, get your son a good pair of walking
shoes (if needed) and directions to library.
Explain none of his computer work/play is done on your computer for at
least a month (enough to make it really hurt).
When he does get access back (if ever) give very strict rules.
Better yet, buy a used computer for summer if he has abided by your
rules.
You can probably improve on this last paragraph.
