hi Scott,
i also see a post from "Zach" with the same problem.
maybe we should start a support group of our own
for "problems MS hasn't got a clue about" :)

with the number of 'administrator' problems being posted,
i suspect there is some major bug in the way XPhome does
security/permissions that isn't fixable without rewriting
a big bunch of code.. more than MS wants to rewrite.

i had another really irritating problem where my desktop
windows were resizing themselves and changing their
properties from 'details' to 'icons' after a few days.
the MS tech blamed an installed program, wanted me
reinstall XP and let them know if it happened again.
eventually someone unrelated to MS told me that XP had a
limit of 100 folders that it could remember properties
for and bumping up a registry setting for it to 400 would
make the problem go away (until i hit the new limit). the
MS tech couldn't believe it was an XP problem. (the kind
of attitude that makes problems persist). :(

i doubt we will find an answer on this forum.
