Well, there is a workaround.
put in %SYSTEM ROOT%\system32\drivers\etc
a file named 'hosts' (without ''s)
containing sth such as:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 sa.windows.com
127.0.0.1 sc.windows.com
127.0.0.1 windowsmedia.com
127.0.0.1 any-host-you-don't-want-your-computer-to-
secretly-connect-to

this will successfully prevent your computer from
connecting to hosts specified above (accept for localhost,
ie your own computer, which actually _should_ be
127.0.0.1)
