Are you absolutely you are typing the password correctly?
Did you also set the Safe Mode Administrator?
Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password blank.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel and change your password.
You should also set the Administrator password to complete your
security.
Consider using a password recovery disk or writing it down.
Store these in a secure location.
