Hi Linda,
A UPS, Uninterruptible Power Supply, is generally used for desktop machines
to plug into in order to supply clean and uninterrupted power...mostly for
protection of power surges or drops, lightening storms, and the power going
out.
As a rule, most don't hook up their laptops to a UPS, therefore, that is why
that option would not show or be grayed out. Hope this helps.
