Hi all,
I am looking for some help with a small network that has
XP pro and home based clients. Our servers are 2000 pro
based.
I need some general techniques to help me facilitate
things like file sharing in some sort of order.(Current
setup is to put everything on the server and call it file
sharing.)
I know XP has some wonderful options there. I also need
some help controlling the look and feel of the clients to
aid in maintaining the stability of the clients and to
track problems.
I would love to also be able to back up all shared files
to the back up server and once monthly backup those files
to CD or tape.
If you could point me to general administration resources
that would be great. My timeframe is limited. (Jan 31st
go live date if possible.)
Another concern of mine is security and what are
appropriate security policies that will work for both home
and professional editions of XP, that will give me a
decent amount of security with out scaring my user base.
Thanks for your time.
Carl
