Integrity error installing XP Service Pack 1

When installing Service Pack 1, I receive the following
error. "Setup could not verify the integrity of the file
Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is
running on this computer.

I need help with checking the status of my Crytograhic
service, and learning how to turn it on if necessary.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
