Does anyone know how to get rid of the Windows default shares for
"administrative purposes"?

I am not allowed to add permissions to them due to them being for
"administrative purposes only" yet the whole network can access any of my
hard drives including non shared ones using these share names!!!

I really need these turned off as they pose a serious security threat and
defeat the purpose of creating shares with permissions, as they can be used
to bypass the user created shares.

Also, how do I stop windows from saying "permission denied" whenever I try
to access a shared folder on another machine, as I need the login window to
be displayed so that I can enter the correct user name and password, instead
of it telling me that I don't have access.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Graeme
