new security fix problems

I just loaded the latest security fix (I get the
automatic stuff sent to me) and it changed my computer's
setting. Most of the items on my taskbar are gone and I
can no longer open about half of the programs on my
computer including norton antivirus etc. How do I fix
this or is there a way to remove the latest fix?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
